The Hair train
I love pictures like this! They are very rare indeed. Everyone is touching each other and are all still smiling! They like to comb each others hair after bath time.
The Night at the Zoo
I was able to go on Kaylee's big field trip this year. We had an oppurtunity to spend the night at the Phoenix Zoo. They had a program that talked about the zoo. We went on night hikes to see all of the nocturnal animals. Then we went back to a room and we were able to see and touch all kinds of animals. Very cool! There were snakes, cockroaches (Already seen enough of those-thank you), wallabys, cockatils, and other weird animals that I have never seen or heard of.
That took up most of the night. Bedtime was finally at 11:30. Unfortunatley, we had to sleep on a hard cement floor. I didn't bring a pad to sleep on, but told Kaylee I would pay her $5 if I could still hers (which is only about 3.5 feet long- I was desperate!!)
I had a wonderful time with Kaylee!!! It was so much fun to spend time together. She is a fun girl!

Livy's Sunday Morning

C is for Carter, but also for CUTE and that is what Carter is! I can say that because I am his mom and also because it is true.
He began his day by wanting to get on the school bus with the girls. He came out ready to go outside and get on the bus with the girls complete with his jacket and back pack.
I had to intice him back inside with a bribe of tootsie rolls. Not 5 minutes later I came into the kitchen and found the little turkey on my conter top, trying to get more tootsie rolls. He is cute and resourceful.

Success!! Finally!!!
Let's here it for the boy!!!
Today really has been one of the best days ever!! Not only did we paint our house, but Carter is finally PEEING ON THE BIG POTTY without a potty seat!!!!! Can a day get any better?
After painting our house we went for Chinese food. We forgot to have Carter go potty before we left the house, so at the restaurant, as soon as we got there, Carter had to go. We didn't have his potty seat with us so I tried to take him into the bathroom. He wigged, of course. We were at the restaurant for about 45 minutes. (I will give him credit. He can hold it for a long time!). By the time we left, he was shaking because he had to go so badly. We hurried home and I ran in and hid his little potty seat. Yes- we resorted to the non-respected technique of physically forcing him to sit on the potty. He screamed, but as soon as he sat on the potty, he went. He stopped crying and started telling us that the potty was silly. When he was done we were all very excited, but he was not. He was looking all over the house for his potty seat. He even went into the garage looking and crying it. Poor guy! I felt bad then. I finally told him that we gave his potty to Ben & Heidi to use for Baby Lizy. After that, he was fine and went and sat on the potty for practice. Hooray!!!
Lesson learned: Carter does not like change and sometimes you have to force him to do somethings for his own good:)

Painting Party
We had a very tiring, yet rewarding day. Lena, Ladd and their family, along with Ben, Heidi and Lizy came down from Flagstaff and helped us paint our house. David and Nicole also came over and helped. It was wonderful! We definitely could NOT have done it with out them. We actually finished a project!! And actually finished it the same day we started! It seems we always have projects that we don't quite complete. But we did it- with much help!!
I don't know if Ladd and Ben are every going to forget (or forgive) me for having them paint the trim and the gutters. They started around 9 and finished the gutters/ trim at 4. I learned that those two have some tremendous PATIENCE!
Thanks again so much to everyone that helped! We are so grateful for wondeful family!

Odyssey of the Mind
The Odyssey State Tournament finally came this weekend. The kids had worked really hard to improve thier production. Kaylee even made this exploding volcanoe. They did a really wonderful job. I was very proud of them. I have to admit that I am glad it is over. The time commitment was getting to me, but I had a wonderful time coaching and spending that time with Kaylee.
